I just wanted to let everyone know who has not yet personally seen the new Mcabook Pro with the LED screens that they are in one word AWESOME!
I was over to our local Apple store today to stop in and pick up an Airport Extreme router. I wanted to get this prior to my new MBP getting here on Wednesday. I have read quite a few posts about finicky wireless on them with other brand routers and having encryption enabled so I did not want to take a chance on having the same problems connecting. Anyway, while I was there I stopped and looked at the new MBP with the LED and was floored with the quality I saw. I am extremely happy I chose the glossy now that I have seen it first hand. Although the non glossy looked pretty good too. I just like the easier to read and better color on the glossy myself, I know this is a personal preference but wanted to post that I have seen them both first hand and whichever you choose you will be quite happy I am sure.
Aside from my awe looking at the screen, it was my first time ever trying OSX. I did not know anything about using it and just started messing around with it. I figured out a few basic things fairly quickly but will need some time to get familiar with it. I loved the taskbar with the growing icons when you mouse over them and jump around when launched. Pretty slick. The machine itself was actually far better quality in person than I was truly expecting to see. The look and feel of the machine was outstanding. I now feel as if I made the right choice in buying one sight unseen. Although I am more anxious to get it now that I have touched one already
Another thing I thought was quite good was the Applestore employee I spoke to at the counter who was very pleasant and knowledgable. He had a very good conversation with me when I explained my prior PC experience and that this was my first Apple product. Alot of my questions he answered quickly and effectively with a great positive attitude. I have to say I was very impressed. So I picked up the Airport N and left the store feeling quite good about my recent purchase and my first experience with Apple.
Anyhow, I just thought I would share my experience today with those who may be interested.
BTW... While I was browsing the store I overheard again and agai, alot of people asking the experts there, what they expected to hear about Mondays big Apple event. Well what I overheard them telling the customers that the all pretty much expected the big news to be imac related. I did not get the feeling there was going to be much more than that in the way of hardware from their comments.
