okay well i just got my iMac =] and like im scared my external hard drive from my pc has viruses so im scared to sync it to get my music is there anyway to be safe because its praobobly a song or two that is a virus

also what else anti virus supports are there that are free or dont cost to much

Doesn't matter if your files do have viruses; they won't do a thing to your iMac.

Anti-virus, don't even bother. Only one I know of is Norton, and you probably know how much that sucks. ClamAV (or ClamX AV, something like that) is somewhat of a virus scanner, but not really a protector.

You don't need any of that stuff anyway, there are no viruses for the Mac right now, only trojans which are very obvious and pose no real threat if you have a brain. :)

I'm going to say that you should download ClamXAV, which is not a real time protector, but it just scans files fom Windows viruses on demand. It exists mainly so that you can avoid passing on virus infected files to your Windows using contacts.
