Alright so this is my first mac, got it refurbished from the apple store, so I'm learning some new things as i go. Main question, should i go ahead and update to mountain lion? I haven't really done anything to the computer yet except try to move some of my old songs from my old laptop and download some apps.

Also whats with the battery life meter? I charged it up all night last night, and my battery is good, except when i go to see how much i have left, it just jumps from like 7 hours to 6 to 3, and just back and forth. Im not concerned about the battery cause i know its fine, I'm just wondering why the percentage jumps around like that.

Is there anything else that you guys would recommend, is there any particular apps i should go out there and download? Another question, whats the best way to set up iCloud? I was going try to set it up for my contacts, notes, and calendar, but it erased my contacts, didn't do my calendar events and put my notes in mail (I'm assuming thats where they go in 10.7.5.) but its the only thing that worked. Thank you for your patience.

The number of hours is an estimate based on the level of activity, screen brightness, etc. For example, I notice that if I use a program that uses the discrete graphics in the rMBP 15", the estimate goes down by an hour or more.
