10992 32 bit. Wow. Audio processing that used to take 10-15 minutes on my late 2009, now takes 4-5 minutes.

What are you running for memory and Hard Drive?
I received mine today and it was chocking on Parallels, Safari, Mail, iTunes, Calendar and Contacts all being open. Spinning balls all over the place.
Of course I haven't received my 16GB RAM from NewEgg yet. It'll hopefully be here tomorrow and all will be OK.

I'm running 16GB of Crucial and the stock 1TB 5400 RPM hard drive which is fast. Obviously not a SSD, but fast nonetheless. I debated whether to get the stock SSD, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm going to buy a thunderbolt eSata connector with that money instead. I have a lot eSata external drives.

I'm with you on the stock drive. I just sold a 3 month MacBook Pro Retina with the 256GB SSD. While fast, I was always checking disk space, drove me crazy.
If and when 512GB SSD gets to around $300 then I'll putt the trigger.
I'm so tempted on this SanDisk Extreme 480GB SSD for $363.

With just basic stuff open and not being used over 3GB RAM was tied-up on my 2.3GHz Mini.

I can't imagine running Parallels with only 4GB RAM. Wait and see what happens after you install the new RAM. Give Parallels enough RAM to do its thing. I expect that you will see a marked improvement...
