This machine is awesome as I expected already. It's looks awesome on my desk and I love the sound this machine produces...

Now..... what I was fearing the most happened. My machine has this yellow tint display on the its left and bottom part of the monitor... as well as that buzzing sound when leaving the brightness of the monitor anywhere between max and minimum...

I feel like returning it tomorrow for a full refund and waiting on the next iMac, but I will really miss it... Not gonna try to replace because i know the next one will have this same issue...

:(

Really Sad Alexxk , I would think the same, money refund and bitting my tongue for waiting to the next iMac ... :( or maybe you can ask for another one... and cross your fingers stonger this time.

Damn, damn, damn. I really want a 21.5, but it seems like there are many more yellow tint issues with this one than the new 27.

I think it seem always to be more % of yellow screens on the screen you're chosing...

Darn, darn, darn...

Hopefully, its only "1 of the many 21.5" bunch" that has yellowing problem. Just like previous version of 21.5" machines had the odd yellowing probles as well. Majority of previous 21.5" machines didn't have that problem.

If wondering, I bought a new 21.4 i3 model ealeir today. Hopefully, its "clean" - sort of speaking. Only time will tell...

lol........yeah, but there seems to be more reports of 27's with non issues than 21/5's with non issues.

I think I'm gonna wait to see more user reviews.

Prior to this refresh, there were more issues with the 27 than the smaller screen. Maybe because of this, Apple addressed the 27 issue but not the 21.5's.

I know. It's all conjecture.

I just noticed something else.

I'm not sure but I hear a broom broom coming from inside this Computer... Is this the HD? Is it normal?

This is my first iMac, I really never heard anything like it

It's probably the hard drive. For whatever reason, the new iMac's (late-2009 model included) are noisier than the previous ones. It's quite annoying actually since most Macs run silent.

Yes... It seems to be the hard drive. I also fixed the slow booting up sequence. It was taking so long before. I set the Mac OS X Disk as primary disk on the Startup Disk utility and now it boots fast, at least that's OK LOL

Post some pictures! :D

Glad you're enjoying it. :)

Dude... I wish I was enjoying all that, but this freaking buzzing noise coming from the monitor when the brightness is not on max is irritating me now...

Is it really making that loud of a noise? At any rate, some people reported perfect ones. Try to get it exchanged with Apple.

Just a conjecture on my part, but I tend to think that most people complaining about the high pitched noise are also the ones that can hear mosquito ringtones... I am guessing that most upper 20s and older folks with iMacs don't hear the noise as we generally cannot hear the mosquito ringtones either...

Ok, so I decided to return it. I just can't stand this high frequency noise coming from the monitor and this yellowish screen on my iMac.

Shame on Apple....

Brogue Boy I'm not in my 20's and that high buzzing drove me up the wall.
This is disheartening, as I need a computer badly. Perhaps I should try to deal with my situation and go ahead with the Mac Pro in a month or two. I can't believe Apple has not addressed this design Flaw.

Thats too bad, I'm also going to be buying a new 21.5" My current one also has the yellow tint issue, and the one I had before also suffered from the same problem =/ I guess we won't really be expecting a change until the design is changed.

Yellow screen? You're kidding?

Another yellow screen? Dear Lord. This isn't very encouraging. What on earth is going on with Apple? After all the reports last time around and they still haven't addressed the problem. How on earth is even one machine with a piss-yellow screen leaving the factory? The mind boggles.

Are you getting a new machine? If so open it up in the store. You want to make sure you get a flawless machine. The'll let you open it. They're great machines if you get a flawless one.

My 3.2GHZ i3 arrived last night, and it's perfect. No yellowing or high-pitched noises.

Absolutely perfect, but all of the 4 Apple computers that I've purchased have arrived in this fashion (guess I'm luckier than some!)

Fingers Crossed!

Oh man, I literally just placed my order for my new 21.5" 3.60GHz i5 iMac. I'm FINALLY upgrading from my old mid-2005 G5 iMac, which was flawless and has served me very well. I just hope I have the same luck this time around!:D

I'll report back on my first impressions when it arrives.

Cheers!:apple:
