Hey guys ! I finally got my iMac x3 ! (Waited 27 days ... =o= ) .
I'm really impressed ! The screen is (Unlike many other say ) Beautiful ! It's just gorgeous =) ! No backlight bleeding (Well .. I think so xD) , And no dead/stuck pixels , Or whatever many were talking about =). (Thankfully ) .
So . I had a problem though =O ! I can't use the 4GB RAM sticks that I bought xO ! These are the ones :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=180237800164

They should be compatible ! Dx ! Although they look kinda different .. 8 squares instead of 4 on it =o ... When I installed them I got 3 beeps >.> .

Last mac I owned (2 years ago) was a low-end mac mini . I loved it though =P , Then , After using it for a year , I got a Windows Vista (HP ) laptop .. It was miserable Dx ! Finally , I decided I'll come back to mac =) (Choosing the highest end model too xD ) And well .. All's good ;D .

I'm no RAM expert, but I THINK that your problem could be they are different "densities" which could be considered a spec. Best thing to do to avoid more $ and confusion is to just use crucial.com and get RAM that is certified compatible. If you look at newegg.com for the same specs, there is one comment from someone saying it didn't work for them w/ the new iMac... so the newegg stuff may also be different densities. That's just a guess ...

Congratulations! My second 24" 3.06Ghz iMac is prepped for shipment, so should be in the FedEx truck tonight. Hopefully my stuck pixel experiences will be behind me.

I hope it arrives without any stuck pixels =) . Although I fail to understand why people really hate those xD , I mean , one or two in 2250000 pixels isn't so annoying right ? =P

First photo x3 ! Oh , Btw , About the link plush doll ... xD I'm 15 years old , and um , a big fan of LOZ I guess xP .

I still Didn't set it up correctly .. Just placed it randomly and begane workin' on it =P.

im still waiting for my exams to finish before i finally buy the top spec imac, but have seen and used many macs. you should be able to find a tutorial somewhere on the net, probably youtube explaining properly how you should do it. they now have black tabs which you pull out to replace the ram. if not just go to a apple store or ask a genius equivalent at the ionline apple store.

also i think eBay is very good for certain things such as photographic equipment, but for computers and parts im not too sure about. best to go for a well known company, such as overclockers.co.uk or whatever they have in your country

just ask for a refund on the ram if it isnt working...

Contact the ebay seller and tell them the ram doesn't work. The ebay ad makes rampant claims about being 100% guaranteed, etc., etc....so they should replace the modules. Do it quickly, because often ebay sellers have a very limited DOA return period.

Congratulations on the iMac!

Just got my 24" 3 ghz! The screen is huuuuuge! I can't get over how silent the machine is. My PPC G4 sounds like a jet engine! The iMac makes zero noise! :D

Congrats on the incredible computer!

What's with the ceram-wrap looking film on the table?

Oh that xD , It's there so the desk doesn't get dirty =P . I'll take it off though since it's kinda annoying xD.
