So i just got my 40D after having the XSi for quite some time. I had a 30D, but sold it in Feb of 2007.

I forgot how robust feeling it is, especially over the Rebel Line. Not as robust as the EOS-3, but i think it will be fine in some less than ideal weather (no downpours though). I have been thinking of selling it ((already, i know) and stepping up to a 5D. I have seen them creep under the 1K barrier...

Where have you seen a 5D for under 1K? FM and craigslist they're usually a minimum of $1200. The cheapest I've ever seen is $1050 for a very beat up model with over 100K clicks

I've seen high shutter count or cosmetically abused 5D's going for $950ish, but the general going rate is $1100-1200.

Just got my hands on a 40D today also - great camera. I also am moving up from the XSi, so I played around with some comparison shots today. The difference was pretty dramatic. I did the comparison quickly, so I'm probably not comparing apples to apples, but what I saw certainly made me happy I got the 40D. Also, I fired off 17+ RAW shots in a row - Lovin' IT!
