iPod Just got my 5G iPod refurb - it has to be new right?

I had a 5G iPod, and it died. So I coughed up the $121 to get it replaced with a refurb, it came today and it looks totttally new... like, new as. I know some folks said they put new backs on old ones but even the front is spotless (although I'm not game to take off the protective plastic till I buy it a cover).

Is there anyway of seeing if this is really new or not?

Well, it's not new because it's a refurbished product. I'm glad it looks new though, and I'm sure it works as well as a new product.

Well it actually may be new...if Apple is giving old stock as refurbs. However, all refurbs from apple look absolutely pristine!
