To everyone who is worried about getting a refurb, don't worry! It shipped from CA, and arrived in two days (I'm in CA also).

Just set up my iMac, and was a little worried after reading the horror stories here, but everything looks great! I looked around for yellowing, and nothing! I'm not going to do that test though, because if I can't see it now then I'm happy! No dead pixals! No bent stand! No noisy HD! Nothing! Just a great computer, at a great discount! :D

Why would you possibly do tests?

I mean what you dont know cant hurt you. Ignorance is bliss. Why have someone point out that you bought a defective machine. It's much easier to keep your head in the sand and for Apple to continue to produce flawed monitors.

With all the hoopla garnered, its like breaking a condom and not goping in for an HIV test.

Glad to hear you got a good one I received 2 bad ones and decided to just go with the quad i5 new. one yellow screen probably not that bad but it was in the middle of the screen, and the second I could not believe it the screen flickering issue after a few minutes at idol even after the update was run. apple was good about returning both units and gave me a 5% discount on the new one and free expedited shipping overall decent deal. but glad to hear there are good ones out there I should have my new i5 quad early this week.

With all the scaring and negative comments we read on this site about the issue, it puts that thought into our heads that what we got is flawed and then look for the issues.

Nothing is perfect. Sure, Apple products are examined more closely than others (microscope to iPhone 4 retina display) but everything is flawed. If it doesn't affect you, don't go looking for it. For those that do, carry on. I can't stop all the stupidity in the world.

I really do hope you get a good one. I was not very lucky. I am just saying make sure it is what you want or is ok for you and return it if you are not happy, I really hope you are happy with your refurb I just have rotten luck. When I buy a car and there is a lemon on the lot there is a good chance I will find it. I would not stay away from refurb at all but it does seem the first generation imacs had some screen problems and most of them are showing up as refurbs and apple is not doing a good job weeding them out that is all. I am sorry I am scaring people but if you are not happy return it and apple as always is very good about returns.
