I just got my iPhone 3Gs 16gb black!

I'm so excited. I got it for "work." I work in IT.

Enjoy! May I suggest the free version of the Distant Suns app? It's a great night sky simulation, and one of the best apps I've played with. Uses GPS to accurately plot the night sky and everything, will tell you where the planets currently are, etc. Very fun if you're at all interested in astronomy/space. And no, I am not affiliated. Just a fan.

Awesome, enjoy. Now you can play with it a work and say, "leave me alone, I'm working!!".

That reminded me of this:

Anyway, enjoy your iPhone very much, I'll be getting a 3GS in a few weeks myself :)

Maybe I will have to check that out.

I'm lucky enough to have my work pay for the voice and data of my plan. I just had to buy the phone. Got it for $150 bucks through our corporate rep.

A quadruple post. Awesome.
Edit: Congrats on the new phone. Have fun with it, and welcome to the forums. In the future, copy a quote and re-edit it into your original post. Do not double/ triple/ QUADRUPLE post.

I dont understand this one. Its one of the only ones I dont get.
Is it a play on Pseudo or what?

Sudo is the UNIX command to make the computer do anything with the permissions of the root user (so it basically gives you "god powers" of the system).

No prob, also look through the other stuff on there, you can get one of this famously hilarious pic too:

:p

Haha man all these t-shirts are just begging to be worn on Fridays. I wouldn't be caught dead with one on outside of my office, but it would definitely make for a fun day at work.

Do you know of any .Net specific sites with tshirts? That's the environment most of my projects are in. (Yes, I know it's Microsoft)

PS. Back on topic: Congrats to the OP! You will love your phone!

I'd actually like to wear a geek t-shirt around to see how many people see it and laugh :p

Aside from this, I can't help with the .NET thing though! :p

Congrats on the purchase! I adore mine. Its my first iPhone. I would suggest a few apps to get:

Beejive - It just updated and works flawless now. IM client for ALL your IMs.
Zen Bound - A game where noone can figure out why its appealing.
Doodle Jump - Fun and addicting game
Cro-Mag Rally - Fun racing game.

Sorry for the multiple posts. The forums I usually frequent don't have that feature.

That sandwich comic is hilarious.

Thanks for the app suggestions. One of the first apps I will be loading is Beejive.

I had an iPhone 1st gen. It was a cool phone ... but was very gimped compared to the 3gs with 3.0 os. I am very exited for all the things that this iPhone has that my old iPhone didn't.

I actually got rid of my original iPhone because I couldn't afford the iPhone plan. I used a dumbphone until I got my current job. Before my work approved iPhone's for use ... I had a blackberry bold. Which was a pretty nice phone. But it is no iPhone. The web browser sux really bad on blackberries.

What are some other good apps that people suggestion?

I got this case to put my phone in - http://www.switcheasy.com/products/Rebel/Rebel.php?color=devil

If you like the comics, get the xkcd app for sure! I use this one! (don't be put off by the rating, it's farrrr too high for what xkcd actually is)

Other ones I like are: WeDict (dictionary), Tap Tap 2 (Guitar Hero-like game), BatteryStatus (can be handy, gives advanced battery info), iWoopie (downloads videos from YouTube, DailyMotion, and other streaming sites), Backgrounds (loads of awesome backgrounds to download) and Flixter (finds movies in cinemas near you, much better than ShowTimes).

Thanks for the info. I'll have to load that.

Is there anything similar for ctrl alt del?
