It's been 15 minutes and i just set it up. Im surprised at how ridiculously easy it was. 15 minutes, and i'm never going back to the windows abomination.

Ditto. I got mine 2 days ago. It was so much easier to setup and hook up online. All I need to work out is how to use the OS.

I was waiting for the new Macbook pro´s to get updated, the long wait made me realize that my current computer (an aging iBook) was used basically as a desktop. I'm currently using the iBook as a netbook.
So I decided to purchase the mini with another display I'm using two now, boy what a wonderful machine and setup

This is exactly what I did three days ago. I got tired of waiting for the MBP revs and remembered that I had this fantastic older cinema display sitting around. What was I thinking? The Mini with the cinema display is a beauty. Glad I took the plunge.

I just got the 2.53 MacMini (figured the extra $200 was worth it for more drive space and RAM), and it's my 3rd Mac.
Never thought I'd want it instead of the iMac, but I'm in semi-travel mode these days, and will will continue to be for the next few years, so I just can't carry around anything with a monitor. I've had an MBP for 2 years and wanted a 2nd machine, so the mini inexpensively fits the bill and can travel with me, so I can now have 2 machines anywhere I go (monitors are cheap). And a MacMini without a monitor is about half of the cost of a 2nd MBP with the same stats. I'm so glad to have this option!

I'm in the same boat. I just picked up my first Mac, a base model 2.26GHz Mini, on Tuesday. I'm just starting to get things setup- which is much fun. I also picked up a new wireless KB and Magic Mouse- to add to the experience.

Being an old Unix guy, I love the ability to run some of the old Unix commands in the Terminal window.

I wanted a low power consumption box and had a monitor that is perfectly good and was thinking that if I didn't like it I'd just sell it on and get some new PC instead.It's been 15 minutes and i just set it up. Oh yes, lol. Once you go mac, you never go back. and their keyboard (the apple keyboard) is so fun to type on.
Also, time machine was extremely simple to set up, and i used my iPod to transfer all my music to my mac
- as well as the address book stuff and whatnot.

I have two Mac's but regularly need to use my windows systems for other tasks. No point in dishing out all kinds of cash to get apps I already own on windows ...
True, too much stuff out there that is either Windows only or just plain better on Windows.
Mac Minis are nice. I am thinking about one to hook to my 52" LCD. I would have to get the HDMI adapter then.

Yeah thats Mac OSX for ya! It took me 10 mins to create an account, get on the internet and import all my bookmarks on my MBP
I don't remember it being this easy when I got my iBook, iMacG3, and White iMac. They must have been working on it

I love MobileMe for all of this. Anytime I setup a new Mac under my account I don't have to worry about all my personal data and settings. It just makes it too easy and I am glad I don't have to worry about all the messing around to get it all setup the way I want it. I use my iCal a lot and this is a life saver!
I've been thinking about Mobile Me, but I only use one Mac, and thats my MacBook Pro... I gave my White iMac to my Mum, and my old 2008 MacBook to my sister... So I guess there's no point for me
Well I have the 2 iMacs and then my iPhone. So between all that it is a godsend! I couldn't live without it. It's nice that my iCal all syncs over the air with my phone. I track all my bills and task through it so much and don't always want to sync it back with my Macs.
I can't wait for Cha-Ching to offer over the air syncing. I seen that 1Password is going to come out with over the air syncing soon.
How do you like the Magic Mouse? Some people complain that it's uncomfortable - do you agree? What about the connection with both the mouse and the keyboard - is the bluetooth working flawless as you'd expect with Apple?

In my view, they really add to the 'Mac Experience' I'm setup to use either my PC KB/Mouse via a KVM switch but most often use the Apple KB/Mouse.
My Mini is on the floor next to my desk- prob about 5-6 feet away from the devices. I've never had a problem with the signal dropping- seems to work great.
I really like the mouse. The built in touch functionality is pretty cool. I downloaded an add-on program many have suggested (don't recall the name right now) that is suppose to give it addl capability. I don't find it uncomfortable at all.
Re: the keyboard, my only complaint is the lack of a numeric key pad (which I obviously knew when buying it). The size is great as it having the apple specific keys. The function keys are all pre-mapped so simple things like mute/vol up&down is very easy.
Both have a very solid feel to them.
I don't use any Windows based computer o software in my house since 2006 (last Windows notebook sold) and I don't miss any
Like what ? For me that's only Autocad ,which runs perfectly on vmware fusion win xp
Just curious what do u guys need windows for ?
Two things: Remote server administration (I'm in the healthcare IT profession) and Cakewalk SONAR music production. Both work fine in XP via Bootcamp, though.
