I just got my MacBook Pro and all i have to say is WOW. This thing is so fast i had no idea! I was using a PowerBook 1.67/1gig ram/100gig hard drive. My MacBook Pro makes the PowerBook seem like relic. If you are on the fence about getting a MacBook or MacBook Pro, get off the fence and get one! I just wanted to add my 2c.

I really like my 15" MBP as well, even though I'm waiting for my replacement to arrive (yes, sometimes things break...but Apple has been awesome about getting the machine replaced, so I can't complain). I would recommend getting one, to anyone who is considering one, as well.

Yep!!

I agree. Got a 2.16 with 2gb of RAM and the 7200 drive, it screams. I am upgrading from an old 17" PB 1ghz. Screen is brighter, battery is better and overall a super nice machine.

However, it does run a little warmer then my PB but "it is what it is". The Intel chips run hotter then the PowerPC's.

Good luck with yours.:)

Congrats! I think my MB is smokin' fast too. I would have gone for an MBP (larger screen, better graphics and cooler design), but I only had 1800 bucks, so I went for a MB. Good luck with your pwner MBP:cool: :D

Mine

I got mine last week, and I haven't been plagued with any of the heat issues others have complained of. I mean it does get a little warm (it's a computer with a very powerful processor), but it doesn't get uber-hot.

You know, really didnt listen for the whine, I have been playing my itunes so if it has a whine I would not care due to my love of music. The heat seems to be the same as my PowerBook, so a non issue for me as well.

Congrats! I have had mine for a little over a week now and I'm loving it. I've had no heat issues, no whine, and I couldn't be happier. :)

I love my 15" MacBook Pro as well.
Just wanted to chime in here and mention that I've been using it since mid-February (I was a very early preorder and this was my first Mac) and I had begun to get complacent with it... I just got so accustomed to it working so quickly and easily, that I wasn't appreciating it anymore.

I know this now because I sent it in yesterday for repair (loads of issues... ugh, revision A....) and I'm now using my IBM T42 laptop... WOW. For one thing, I feel so encumbered by Windows since I've gotten so used to being able to do virtually everything from they keyboard. Plus, my apps just work so much better on the Mac! Firefox in particular... for work I have 3-4 Firefox windows open, each with 4+ tabs. In Windows, I feel myself waiting around for Firefox to do something, but on the Mac, Firefox flew!

When I use my PC, I miss my Mac terribly! :)

Since everything is new to me with the MacBook Pro, I didnt know i could use the remote to change songs in iTunes while I was surfing the web or writing in word.

I love my MBP too.
I upgraded from a G3 900 iBook!
This thing is blazing (speed and temperature!).
Glad to see some other people who aren't just complaining about theirs.

I can relate to your impression of the MacBook Pro. I just got mine a little over a week ago, and I love it. I bought it to replace my 12" 1.33GHz iBook G4, and this thing has not ceased stopped to impress me. :D

Now im just curious, but how does one keep track of the front row remote? It seems like such a small thing would find its way into lostdom very easily.

I simply make sure that I keep it at the same place- if I am not using it, then I store it at a set location.

Ghostface, I'm jealous :) ! The MBPs are awesome machines!

I have the base, 1.83 MB, but it's still a fast machine (those Core Duos really impress me)! I love pulling up the Acitivity Monitor and seeing two graphs for the CPU.

If I had some more cash, I would have gone for the MBP. I'm glad you enjoy it :D
