Well I just got my macbook pro a little bit ago and I love it. I was a Windows user for life but not that I got a Mac I love it. I downloaded iStatpro and a few other widgets but is there anything else I should do?

sdfd504, Congrats on your new MBP. I just got my MBP a few weeks ago and would recommend the following software.
NeoOffice - Free MS Office equivilant Apps (Word Processor, etc...)
Transmission - Free Bittorrent Client
Flip4Mac - Free - allows you to play amost everything in Quicktime.
VLC - Free - Will play everything else that Quicktime can't.
The Unarchiver - Free - Unzips Everything!
Firefox - Free - Like it better than Safari
Gimp - Free Photoshop Alternative
Monolingual - Free - Will remove unwanted language files off your HD and help free up some Drive Space.
ONYX - Free - Drive and System Maintenance Utility
AppleJack - Free - System Maintenance and Repair utility that you can run in Single User Mode (Can really help if things get messed up)
Shapeshifter - NOT Free - Will allow you to Skin/Theme you computer in some very cool ways.
I'm not sure what other things your into or what type of things you want to run but I'd check those out...

I just ordered this same system on the 14th, how long did it take for them to ship yours from the time you ordered it? Mine hasn't shipped yet.

Just got my MBP recently too and I love it!
Wow basically the next business day. I ordered mine Tuesday and I haven't gotten anything about preparing to ship yet.
Well they preared to ship it on Sunday and then it shipped Monday so they worked on it over the weekend. What are your ship dates?
Mine is still just prepared for shipment, even though they told me it would go out today. I was really hoping they would meet or beat their ship date, but now it looks like it might not go out till Monday =(
