So apple finally had enough fixing my last MBP (rev A) over and over again, and yesterday i received a brand new but bottom line 15" BMP in the mail. I installed a 2GB stick of ram, and off I went.

Now I have some issues. First off, I plug it in, and it doesn't charge. As long as it's plugged in it doesn't lose charge, but it doesn't charge, and it says "Calculating" indefinitely.

Secondly, the sensor for Enclosure Bottom disappeared from the options on iStat Pro, as if the feature never existed... ambient is also missing.

Help?

Can you post screen shots of its power information (top left Apple symbol/About this Mac/More Info/Power - command-shift-4, press space bar and select the info window), when both on and off A/C power?

If it's charging, the amperage entry should be positive. When on battery, it should be negative. If it's charged up, the full capacity entry should be about 5500 mAh

You did calibrate when you got it, didn't you? Which means it would have charged up once already.

LOL try 4 bad apples :(

Are you sure you have the correct on-battery image? They're identical and both say it's charging.

I would try the calibration steps.

I did now, and it works now

Heh, even the temp sensors that disappeared have come back.

Thanks guys. You guys are great

For some reason, every couple of weeks my MBP would decide to stop sleeping and the screen saver will stop coming on. If it gets worse, it will always be "calculating" and never really charge. So every month or so I have to reset the SMC. Exactly the symptoms that you exhibit here.

Anyways not sure why it does that, anybody here know?
