Just got my SR MBP! :D Raised keys, though O.o?

So I just got my new MacBook Pro yesterday; I don't have a camera to take pictures of it with, and I am not hoisting this baby over in front of my sink to take a picture with the iSight (disaster waiting to happen :)). I'm really pleased with it so far, I've installed MS Office and Photoshop CS3, things are working fine. Now there's a really strange issue going on with the keys...on the left side they appear to be raised a bit. The whole key isn't raised, just the left side of it. The keys involved are the ESC key, the tilda (~) key, the tab, caps lock, shift, and function keys. Not the whole key is raised, just the left side, so that the keys are on a tilt. Why is this? Is it a problem? Can it be fixed by me easily?

They designed that way(or something has to compromise to the interior). Mine is the same, and so is my friend's and my classmates'. Don't worry, I only took notice of that after my friend told me.
Don't expect too much from a comsumer product. It's a laptop, not some fancy shmansy B&O. And apple already does way better than other companies. Take a look at Dell or HP, and you'll find Apple feels much more solid than others.
 
mine, too, is slightly raised on the left side - no big deal to me, still looks great, feels sturdy and works perfectly.
 
Mm ok, thanks. Just wanted to know if there was something about a computer part swelling. I love the keyboard, now that I've gotten used to it.
 
Actually, I've been examining it and even if it's normal, it makes me a little nervous since it raises the screen and prevents it from completely closing. (I don't want to ruin my screen!!) I heard MacBook Pro keys were hard to replace once removed...should I just take it to the Apple Store? (Hope they don't ask to keep it overnight since I don't want my Dad to notice there's an issue :X).
 
If you feel at all uneasy, take it back... they should be able to check it out and see if there is a problem. I know what you mean about possibly damaging the screen. I still place the foam sheet it came with on the keyboard before I close it up. :)

If it's actually interfering with the screen closing than for sure take it to the apple store.

Even if it's just slightly misaligned, take it in and they will fix the keys that are off. My enter key was off a little bit and the apple genius took it off and then reseated it, and now it's aligned fine. Should only take them a few minutes to fix it.
