Hi,

I just got a 2010 2.8 Quad (that I'm planning to upgrade to a 3.33 Hex of course). Haven't really gotten much into it yet, but I did run Geekbench and a music app "test" with Logic 9. Just curious, I got decent Geekbench numbers: 32 bit = 8892, 64 bit = 9747, but my performance in my music app Logic 9 was really below average...

Just curious how can I tell that my new mac pro is functioning properly and effectively? Do the decent geekbench score guarantee that all the hardware is working correctly, and it is an isolated issue with my music app Logic? or does Geekbench not fully diagnose potential problems with my comp?

Yeah, between 60-70. Well I got decent geekbench and the apple hardware test was fine, so I guess I'll just try to work this out within Logic 9...

shoot the guy an email and ask about the ram affecting the score. if you did your quad with 3 sticks of 1 gb ram that may be why you are low. he does not mention what amount of ram is used. looks to me that the score on that graph is about 62 so 45 is low if you both used the same ram and ram may be important for the test. your geekbench scores are normal.

Yeah I'm honestly just wanting to get on with it, just installed 12 gigs of ram and an ssd, installing osx right now. Hopefully, the machine is not defective (geekbench normal) and its some application setting I need to sort out later.
