I'm thinking of doing the same thing. The dropped call issue with AT&T gets worse every day. The phone is virtually unusable.

I'm getting the Driod, with a new line, and if I like it, I'll port my number to Verizon and hopefully say goodbye to AT&T.

Good luck thinking you'll get fewer dropped calls with Verizon Worthless. I left them for AT&T because of their spotty coverage and massive dropped calls.

But if you're making the switch take a look at one of the Windows Mobile phones. With Mobile Shell added on you get a phone that not only has a large number of apps available for it, but has an OS that rivals and surpasses in many ways the iPhone's. The Droid is sluggish and has few apps available for it. Go over to pocketgear dot com and take a look at Mobile Shell.

I'm surprised they didn't deactivate it right away. That's why I'll let my new carrier deal with the number transfer, as so I don't miss a beat.

Try unlocking your phone and give T-Mobile a trial spin. I think you can do it for 30 days.

I left Verizon for the same reason. Too many dropped calls. I also couldn't use my phone inside quite a few buildings, while friends with AT&T got full bars inside the same buildings. In the year that I've had my Iphone, I've had very few dropped calls. A lot less than I had with Verizon.
