It seems snappy. I opted to save $200 on the processor. Do you guys think the upgrade is worth $200? Does it really speed it up that much faster?

Personally I don't think it's worth it for the extra speed. See the SSD makes so much more of a difference than .2GHz. I would doubt you could tell the difference. It's not like the 1.6GHz is going to be slow and the 1.86GHz is going to be snappy...after all it's only about a 10% CPU difference. In the real world that probably translates to like a 2% difference which will be hard to even measure for day to day stuff. Save the $200 and buy the next revision of the Air in a few years...which will make both of these new Rev Bs look archaic ;)

maybe the $200 could have been better spent elsewhere but what can you do now? enjoy the computer and dont look back.

h1d just made me think about this in a different way. You just earned yourself a free iPhone 3G by doing what you did. Trust me you'll notice and appreciate an iPhone a LOT more than you would .26 GHz :)

I understand that... when you go for 2500 bucks of purchase, sometimes 200 seems like a decent CPU upgrade  (But then, you can buy a whole good CPU for a desktop at it as well...) And I was planning to get 1.86 rev B as well...(digits do make me blind...)

Its not going to make that big of a difference, for me I just bought the 1.8 because it was there at Apple, but love the ssd drive all my macbooks will now have them.

I'm starting to think most of the time it mostly stays at 800 and rarely throttles to 1.8 (if at all), then heats up and starts to step down.

NCGuy implies it sticks to 15.99

is the .2 a sham?

Besides the CPU speeds, anyone notice the search for "gay donkey porn" on the 2nd link?
Wonder what justit likes other than a fast MAC.
