Just Jailbroke iPhone 3Gs with blackra1n...

I just jailbroke my 3GS phone using blackra1n without too much difficulty, however when I open blackra1n on my iPhone and install Cydia and/or Rock, Cydia doesn't show up anywhere on the phone. It says it is installed but I don't see it anywhere. The Rock app shows up fine.

Any help?

I have also found that Winterboard also doesn't work correctly.

Nobody else has had this problem??

Cydia and Rock are cracked apps? Yes, they are apps to access repositories for other apps that require jailbreaking, but there is nothing 'cracked' about Cydia or Rock.

EDIT: or did the OP edit out the part that said that they wanted cracked apps?

Rock is quite safe actually, but I agree to go back and install one at a time. Make sure you didn't have it hidden with *poof or sbsettings in the past. It may have remembered that. If this is the first time you've jb'd, go to step one.
 
I just jailbroke again and tried installing cydia with no luck. I have had this problem in the past with older jailbreaking programs. Not quite sure what is going on.

I would try restoring to official firmware and rerunning blackra1n. This time install only Cydia from blackra1n, and install Rock from Cydia. Installing both from blackra1n causes lots of people problems for some reason. If you want to unlock, I would also install blacksn0w from Cydia instead of from the blackra1n app.

Are you referring to Cydia & Rock ?

You must be as these are the only 2 JB apps the OP refereed to.

Neither has anything to do with the installation of cracked apps.

In case you didn't notice, the OP edited his post after Mystikal's reply and probably following his/her suggestion. You have no way of knowing what might have been in there when Mystikal made his/her post.

That is why I FIRST asked if he was refering to Cydia or Rock !!

Had Mystical quoted the poster, this would all be moot !

It just doesn't pay to make comments here amymore.

But you didn't stop there. You made assumptions and attacked Mystikal. I apologize if I offended you, but I found your attack on someone who was only trying to help the OP offensive.

And perhaps Mystikal was trying to avoid quoting posts that could get the OP banned? I think your outrage at both Mystikal and me is misplaced.

Hey guys,

i jailbreaked my phone yesterday, via blackra1n.
everything worked out fine, but then i looked at the icons and cydia didnt show up. i know its stupid, but i hide it with poof before, as well as a lot more apps. now, poof doesn't show up either, so i can't unhide the icons.

i read in a forum to go to "settings -> general -> restrictions" and just back to home. This worked for the guy that postet it. I did that, and since then, even my appstore-icons and some others aren't showing up anymore.

I looked up all my apps on iTunes, they're all installed. I can see every programm, that wasn't installed via Cydia. (So i can't see or delete Poof as well)

Now my question is: How can i unhide all the icons? (All the ones that were hidden by poof before)

I'd really really appreciate some help.

When you have a new problem, it's better to start a new thread than digging up an old one. Anyway, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. Oh, and you should also go back and disable the restrictions. You did only half the step. You are supposed to enable restrictions, back out of settings, then go back and disable restrictions.
