My 3G used to be jailbroken all the time before the 3.0 update, but after the update was released I never had time to re-jailbreak until now. I just used redsn0w, followed iClarified's directions and everything seemed to go fine. Once my iPhone had rebooted, I checked the springboard but Cydia is nowhere to be found. I repeated the jailbreak process and it's still missing. I tried searching for Cydia as well, and it's still not there. However, before I updated to 3.0 I had Cydia in a Categories folder...and never removed it. Could that be the problem? If it is, does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks! Forgive me if this has been covered already, but mroogle didn't turn up anything

Yep, that's the problem.

Can you still see your settings app? If so, go into Parental Controls and Enable Restrictions, set a password, then disable them and it should unhide all of your icons.
