In some ways it’s actually better than 3D Touch.

I noticed there was a big delay after holding space and then letting go before the keys came back. So I tried releasing my thumb from the space bar and then started swiping on the entire keyboard and it actually worked. You can even let go multiple times and scroll through documents that are multiple pages long. Works amazingly well

You can also use a second finger to select text.

That said, it's still better/faster to do all that with 3D Touch.

Difference with 3D Touch is if you release your finger you have to reapply pressure to move the cursor again. But yes, selecting text was way better with 3D Touch

There’s that, but it almost has to be that way for Haptic Touch to compensate for the fact that it could only be invoked from the spacebar that is all the way at the bottom of the screen.
