Just made the purchase...

Well, technically the purchase will occur at midnight tonight. Georgia is having a tax free weekend that begins tonight at 12:01am. The local apple store is taking purchases now, but will run the charges at 12:01am tonight. I will then be able to pick up my new Blackbook at 9am Thursday morning…packaged and ready to go! After Apple runs the credit card, they will send an email invoice that will have to be brought in. Great service for me because most computer and electronic stores are slammed over the tax free weekend and I want no part of the crowds. In and out service!
I am excited and have already purchased the following for the mac thanks to all the smart people on this forum:

2gb of ram
Windows XP professional (school purchase for $14)
Office for Mac 2004 (school purchase for $15) I will get 2008 as soon as it comes out, but 2004 will do for now.
V270 bluetooth mouse
Speck clear case
Firewire cable
Apple Video output cable

I will be purchasing VMWare as well.

So, how lame is it to be pretty excited about a computer purchase!

I am in Graduate School (Seminary) at Liberty Univ. Liberty has a licensing agreement with Microsoft that allows students to purchase any Microsoft product at a very, very cheap rate...pretty sweet and a nice perk!

Here is a strange question. I just received the email invoice for the computer and instead of the $100 student discount, I received $117 off the normal laptop price. I have no clue why...

Oh well, cheaper is better...off to get it now!

Ordered my 2.2 Macbook Pro June 27th and the shop I ordered it thru received it yesterday! As soon as they're done preconfiguring it [Logic Pro with all the bells an whistles] they'll be shipping to ME this weekend...

So far I love it...very easy to set up and customize...I am now waiting for all my documents to load over from my old laptop...only 5 hours left...wow!
I really have not even played with everything yet.
