Upgrading from a 3 year old MBP that is to costly to repair. Get home from Best Buy, unwrap everything, dust off my desk, straighten everything up. Power it up, get the blue screen, then nothing, 10 minutes I wait, ok, no biggie, I'll turn it off and start it over. Turn it back on, I get a series of 3 loud beeps repeating. Screen doesn't come on, I can hear it running. Tech Support is closed, Best Buy is closed. UGH Apple, how could this be? I was losing faith when my laptop died. Now this? Say it aint so. Anybody ever heard of this problem happening? I know ive heard of issues with the 27".

Thanks for letting me vent.
Chris

Could be the RAM has worked loose in shipping. Open up the RAM door underneath and reseat the RAM. BTW, I know of your pain as I had one of the infamous freezing iMacs two years ago. Went through a lot of hoops to get it fixed but Apple did the right thing in the end and gave me free AppleCare for my troubles.

Chill out, return the brick tomorrow, get a full refund, then truck on over to an Apple store and purchase a new unit from a relatively reputable company.

At least you got free applecare, thats a sweet deal. Buying it from Best Buy, they dont even sell applecare, they push heir own support, which would scare me silly if I took my computer into them. I wish I had an Apple store, living in northern indiana, the closest is 3 hours, I'm sure they'd fix me right up. I imagine Best Buy probably will too, ah who knows, good opportunity to play some Call of Duty PS3

i hate buying from resellers, i always buy from official stores if i can, just like yesterday i got my sony z5500 from a sony store and not a reseller... always a good thing then if it does develop a fault

Ohh, sorry to hear that OP. I got mine from Best Buy as well. No issues with my imac at all and I actually had a pleasant purchase experiance. Apple rep was very helpful and answered all the questions I had. He said you can return your imac to the nearest apple store. All BB does is just sells them (and provides their ****** insurance care too). BestBuy even offered me $100 off the Time Capsule, but I was already over my budget and could not afford additional $200. Overall, I think it depends which store you go to, which rep you talk to.

I am sure if you bring it to the nearest store, Apple will take care of you no matter where you bought the computer from (as long as it is authorized reseller)

Good luck!

I would suggest plugging it in :) that usually works for me...

No, but all kidding aside... just take it back.
