Just ordered 2 new iPhone 3Gs

Hi all. New to this forum. Been following macrumors for some time though.

I finally got the okay from the boss (the wife to get iPhones. I ordered through the FAN program via AT&T's website. I just discovered that we get 18% off both voice and data so I'm stoked.

Any general rules on how long it will take to get them? They are coming to my house in Ohio. One of them requires a number to be ported. Does that take more time?

I've had G1 touch since the week they launched (using it to type this post in fact). I can't wait to use it outside my wifi network. Also looking forward to the speed increase.

just called the AT&T CS number. My order has already shipped. It's do to arrive by 3:00 tomorrow. Not bad given that I ordered everything at 10:00 last night and it's coming from TX (to OH).

You will notice the phone's speed and responsiveness. However, as for the AT&T 3G network, it's taking a pounding currently, so don't be surprise you find that 3G speeds are not holding up.

I find my 3G speeds are fine all over New Orleans. I keep a strong 1.8Mb/s down and when I'm in a populated or area with lots of people (colleges/schools/Super Dome), that speed decreases to ~1.2Mb/s to 800Kb/s.
