And will have a 30gb Black iPod Video

I'd say so. I know there is a lot of us caught up in having the latest and greatest, so we can get a bit carried away. You have a lot of iPods. Sell what you dont use, and enjoy the video Pod. To me it all about the music, so im gonna stick with the nano for now.

I am having a slight amount of buyers remorse and i don't have anyone to rant to so feel free to disregard.

I told myself if they released an iPod Video I'd buy it especially if it came in the color black.
I also needed an external HD to back up all my pics and music so i can do a fresh install and then put all that stuff back on my drive.
I bought a shuffle but I have just not been happy with it because i can't change songs to ones I want.(I know the fun is hearing a random song, but i put gym and walking music on it, so when it goes from Rage Against the Machine to the Garden State Soundtrack to Nirvana......it kinda kills the mood)
I had a 3rd Gen(I had just replaced the battery myself) stolen from me in August so I've been stressing without the Rating option, Calendar and Screen
I went into the Apple Store and was blown away by how much i liked the nanos size color and screen.

So what happens Apple releases an iPod at 1pm(my class gets out at 1)i go to the computer lab check it out and so my whole time at my internship and on the city bus it's all i can think about how much i want one. I walk in my door sit down at my Powerbook look at it one time and without really thinking select black 30 gig and click proceed to check out then boom, all of a sudden i hear the ding in my Mail program that says i got new mail which is a receipt for the iPod...........why do i feel like Apple has made me addicted to their product line.

Anyway i got the external HD i wanted, I got the color I wanted, I got the video support i wanted, and i'm feeling a little better about not having the 20 gig anymore.....I'm feeling better about my purchase already! I wish i bought a 1:30 when i checked it was still shipping within 24hours now i gotta wait at least a week!!

That Explains my problem and my solution.

The girlfriend makes fun of me because she says I'm addicted to technology I say at least it ain't booze, cheating with other women, drugs or eating

Not sure if you have a problem. To me, the new iPod is the first one that doesn't appeal to me much. The thin profile and better battery life are nice, but don't really grab me. The video capability would be useless to me. The nano, on the other hand, is attractive to me. I am considering buying one to tape to my cellphone :).

Trust me I do enjoy booze and i far exceed the binge drinking amount on almost every friday and saturday during the semester i would however say i'm not "addicted". Computers on the other hand, i follow like a fiend, and spend ungodly amounts of money i earn from working that should go to other things like rent and food or hey maybe paying off my loans when i graduate..........anyway I'm going to look at the receipt for my iPod again

If you have the spare cash it's up to you what you do with it! If iPods are your drug of choice then wheres the harm?!

Although if you're getting in to debt to buy them then that wouldn't be so good!

Of course, if you're loaded then maybe sell a few of them and give the proceeds to charity!

I ordered a white 60GB version, to replace my 3rd Gen 20GB which is now being passed on to my sister as a semi christmas present (i'll buy her something else too..seems a bit mean to give something i've been using for two years as her only gift :p )

Compulsiveness isn't a problem is it? Of course that money could have multiplied several times over in some energy stocks by now. Well, Steve's portfolio benefitted anyway.

The tech cycle is so frantic. There's no perfected form of the product - e.g., a book - paper and some covers, more or less it, not going to change it. Even most other items that are re-invented and improved have such a longer shelf-life: cars, houses, appliances, other consumer electronics like good stereo components or your TV. You're in a marketing blackhole from which it is difficult for dollars to escape.

True, but when you start spending more time with your technology gadgets than her, she will be jealous.  Make sure you always spend enough time with the, uhh, software in your life. ;)

I've got a case of buyers remorse right now too, but not enough to terminate the purchase. I just dropped $1400 on a new iMac when I already have one (using this new one as my media center) where I needed a TV and could have bought a nice LCD HDTV.

Not to mention my desk looks insanely knotty now. I've got an iMac on one side of the desk, PowerBook on the other and soon-to-be iMac mouted on the wall in the corner.

The curse of Apple! Look what you have done to me Steve! I am an animal!

I'm just wondering - why? Which of those do you actually use? I have a mini and a shuffle, and I use both (shuffle for running, mini at all other times). I wouldn't get a new ipod of any kind without selling one of these (probably the mini, as nothing really replaces the shuffle) because I have no need for anything beyond 1 running ipod and 1 everyday use ipod.

I mean... with a new video ipod, will you ever turn on the ipod photo again? do you ever use the mini over the nano? Do you use the 1st generation at all?

I have a 30gb 3g and a shuffle.

the 4g didnt do much for me...but this one, with battery life, larger color screen, thinner, and of course video, really has got me sold already. So, sell the 3g and the shuffle, and get the 60gb. Nice comprimise.

Freaks! I'm an obsessive compulsive Apple shopper and I just got my third iPod today. (But lets not get into how many Macs and displays I've gone through  )

do u have them all or do you sell them to put money towards a new ipod. I don't know why you need so many, but if you got the cash why not....
