(I put this under the wrong forum earlier today...sorry !)

First post !!! It feels forever since I started reading these forums. Today I finally ordered my iPhone. It will be my first iPod either ! What a great feeling ! :D

I am a penny-saver and that's why it took a while to jump the fence.
That said, I do not intend to sign with AT&T by any means. At the best
scenario I want to use prepaid plans from T-Mobile (or, depending at your
replies, do not using the phone at all). Please, bear with me if
this has been asked a thousand times (it's hard to read and read
without the real thing on hands) :

a. Let's say that for some reason I decided to sign with prepaid AT&T in
the first month (using that trick of the 999999999 SS number).
If I stop paying the monthly charge, losing the phone service,
can I still use Wifi and get official updates from Apple ?
Is it still under warranty ?

b. If I decide to unlock and use another SIM card (let's say, T-Mobile),
will I be able to receive updates from Apple ? and later on this year
use the Apple Apps Store ? Finally, this route means no official
warranty, right ?

c. Years from now, when battery is dead, one can undo all
unlocks/hacks to the original state in order to get a new one ?

Thanks for any help ! I will be quiet and track the package now ;)
