so do i still have to jailbreak it or something or can i just start using it without the phone part.

also if we ordered it a few days ago from apple.com..what firmware will it have,

is it possible to hack it with 1.1.2

Yeah you can jailbreak it without activating the phone part. I posted a guide here.

Yes you can jailbreak it on the firmware 1.1.2, which is what you will have if you just ordered it.

Anything else, just ask!

ok thanks : )

one more question, is there anyway that my phone will get bricked by doing this? or can that only happen when you do the simunlock stuff,?

because it has a camera, speakers, bluetooth and it just looks wayy cooler
plus a bunch of my friends have touches so i want something different

Brando88, that link isn't working. I got an iPhone for Christmas and was looking forward to reading your jailbreak guide.

If you are going to jailbreak it, you might as well just unlock it and turn it into what it was meant for, that would be much cooler than just have something that looks like a phone, but is just an iPod.

heh, except you cant unlock 1.1.2 OTB phones. The only way is to get something liek stealthsim and use it to trick it into thinking your sim is an ATT sim, however, it works, and very well :)
