Well here goes,
I just ordered my 24"iMac 2.66, couldn't wait any longer, along with wireless keyboard and mouse, 3 year Applecare and free ipod touch. Technically its free after rebate, and here is the surprise.
Forgot that I had to pay for the ipod and did not have enough funds to cover everything, (am waiting for my student loans to come through). The sales lady said that I had 30 days to pay and not to worry. The order was placed and will be released when full payment is made. I asked if I would still get the rebate on the ipod touch she said yes as the order was placed today as long as paperwork is submitted by October 8th.
Then being very cheeky I asked that if there was a bump/price drop would I be eligible, she again said yes. Supposedly, in the UK at least, Apple give you 28 days to exchange for a new model if an updated one is released.
I personally know this to be true as my 13"uMB was exchanged free of charge for the 13" uMBP within 2 weeks of me buying it.
So basically I will have 24" iMac, free ipod touch and if its updated/reduced in price by beginning of November, if I pay for the order at beginning of October, I can exchange for free and possibly even get a partial refund.
