My last DSLR was the 6MP Rebel XT so making the jump to the 24MP 750D is quite a leap. While I'm pretty happy overall with the new iPhone at 12MP I still want nice detail in my enlargements so I'm moving back to the DSLR for my (mostly landscape) photography. I've heard pretty good reviews for this body, anyone else using it or something similar?

Congratz on your camera. Might I only suggest that you take a little exploration/investigation time to find the best lenses for your camera given its ability to resolve at a higher level than your last camera (and certainly iPhones). There are some excellent lenses from Canon and if you budget permits, look at the Sigma "Art series" lenses as well. I mention this as it is a shame to put a mediocre lens on a camera such as the one you purchased.

Thanks! I still have my 50MM 1.4, I had previously sold off a couple of L lenses but may end up getting the 17-40 for some of the more wider shots. However, I don't mind the kit lens for certain shots that don't really require speed and/or low light.

Great camera, I did some comparing http://www.imaging-resource.com/cameras/canon/70d/vs/canon/t6i/ and while it does have some pretty decent features over the 750D, it's just not worth the extra money to me. Was there a particular feature you wanted that the 750D didn't have?

the 70D has the dual pixel autofocus, video recording is great with it. Auto focus is way more snappier. for the bump in price it's worth it.

I have bestbuy elite plus with 45 day return so I test out everything I buy.

Oh so YOU'RE the reason my brand new item is in a re-taped up box. ;)

Glad you're digging the new purchase, hopefully the lack in focus speed won't be such an issue for me considering most of my stuff is landscape/long exposures.

I recently upgraded my gear going from 9mpeg to 24mpeg. D90 to D750. I plan on getting a couple external hard drives to back up my photos. Also grab a few 32GB SD cards because the 4GB cards won't hold any video footage. Maybe a 2-3 minutes but that's it.

When I first started shooting with a DSLR I found the Canon site helpful. Lots of great tips.

For your new camera, you should also consider the EF-S 10-22 lens for wide angle. I had one before going full frame and it was great for landscape shots. The newer EF-S 10-18 lens is also very good I hear. It's reasonably priced (<$300) and complements the kit lens quite well.
