You will LOVE it!!! I did not like the design much from the pictures, but when I went to the apple store and looked at it, it blew me away. IT IS GREAT.

I also played with iMovie. It seems alot like iMovie 5 with more theme like titles that are not themes and iPhoto like editing for videos (colors, brightness contrast). The interface is great Except for lack of timeline.

All this continuing complaining about the chin....

Maybe you want to sit hunched over your monitor doing your back in, but personally I prefer my screen to be a little higher. And look what the chin does!!

On the 20 and 24" it's less pronounced anyway. Some people just concentrate on the tiniest of faults. If you want to whine, how about moaning about the inclusion of 2600 Pro rather than 2600 XT?

I'm on an imac with a chin right now. It's never bothered me, and I kinda like not having a huge stand on my desk. If they eliminated that the stand would have to go much higher, and take up more space.
It also gives the iMac a funky look... what computer looks (or has ever looked) like an iMac?

Oh, and the chin is still there

Complains... complains...

Soon enough there will be a hovering iMac.
Whether it be fans, magnets, or strings holding it to the room, there will be a hovering iMac. ;)

i played with 24" too!

hi all folks!
i just went to the local store (premium reseller, not applestore) in Trieste, Italy, and they just have got the 24" iMac!!!
how stunning! i played a little with iLife, mainly iphoto (great) and some garageband :D.
i see a lot of HD video made by the store guy, looks beautiful on the screen.
but, that's true, on darker scenes the screen is a mirror...
the pictures looked beautiful, colorful, with high contrast.
i feel the system very snappier (compared aside with my 1Ghz G4 iBook...) :D
so, i would like to buy it this week, the only thing that i don't like is the hard disk. i think 320Gb will be fullfilled very soon. when i bought my iBook i choose 30Gb model, and i filled up very easily. so i made myself an upgrade with a 60Gb disk. the operation was a Big PITA... but with an iMac i don't think it will be a simple operation :(
i don't tried so much the keyboard, just some clicks. strange feel, but i liked.
i think audio is good, same of previous version. better with arman kardon speaker...
just my 2€cent...
bye

I bought my 20" Imac at the Apple store in Sacramento yesterday. I have to tell you, I love it! I've been using a PC for ten years and I've never been this excited about a PC purchase.

Being new to the Apple OS it took me a while to figure some things out (still not an expert obviously), but it's been fun learning my way around. I also bought a .Mac subscription. I love making albums on IPhoto08, and posting them to the web. It's so easy!!

Tonight I'm going to try IMovie. I'm not sure, but I believe you can combine movie clips with stills. Does anyone know? My end goal is to create DVD's, and one of my co-workers told me that you create the project in IMovie, and use IDVD to burn the project. I may need to break down and buy a book.

I am at work right now and can hardly wait to get home to play with my new system!

Serious. Stop the whining. That chin is a brilliant place to stick notes! Word of the day cards! Shopping lists. Condoms. Chewing gum. Garbage Pail Kids stickers....

Although yes a computer is not just about the design, to many people that is a huge factor.
But I think it is key to point out that this new iMac looks MUCH better in person then over the internet or through pictures. If you can, go see it in person, then you will understand.
