I read reviews on these speakers last night on MacRumors, and decided to go purchase a set, as my built-in Powerbook speakers left alot to be desired. All I can say is WOW! I am amazed that these little speakers and sub produce the sound that they do! They are well worth the $100 in my honest opinion. If anyone is considering purchasing these speakers, I highly recommend them.

I bought a set for my brother to connect to his 12" PowerBook...excellent sound - maybe a little light on the midrange but overall well above average, plus they are compact and stylish.

Two thumbs up fom me.

I've had the Creature I's for awhile and have loved them. We have watched movies and listened to music from our iMac (various models) quite a bit since we bought these.

Do the creatures have a volume knob on them, or do they work only through the built in volume range?

There's bass and treble controls on the sub and touch sensitive buttons on one of the tweeters to increase and decrease the volume.

had the original soundsticks and they just didn't do it for me. I ended up getting rid of them after hearing the creature speakers, great sound from such a small setup!

I got the JBL Creatures as well and I love them. They compliment my iBook very well and the sound is fantastic for such a small set-up.

I was going to buy the Creature II's but then I went to an Apple Store and listened to them and others. The Creatures seemed a bit light on bass and midrange, so I went with the Klipsch GMX-A's...they had much better bass and overall sound quality.

Sure the Creatures may look a bit slicker and more stylish, but I will not sacrifice sound for looks.

I've had mine for almost two years and they certainly are wonderful when playing games, particularly Ghost Recon, where sound plays an important part in finding the enemy.

I bought mine for playing iTunes and internet radio.

Are they better/louder than the built in speakers in the iMac G5? I's assuming they are, but I just want to make sure before I consider buying them.

Not trying to hijack, but I´m curious to hear if anyone have had the opportunity to compare the Creatures to the Encounters?
Any noticable difference?

I got two pairs of the JBL Creatures II (divorced parents, one set at each house) and OMG they are awesome! I'm loving them! :)
