Hover over the link and see if its from apple

I'd go straight to iCloud.com and reset your password there instead of using the email.

My understanding of the "rules" of safe computing is never to click on an email link, but rather to go to the site via your browser.

Even if the email looks legit, the ability of phishers or other nefarious types to mimic a legitimate looking emails makes it risky to use email links. Much better to go directly to the site.

I just got the same e-mail too, twice - about 2 hours apart. The link is legit, but I didn't reset my password.

This makes me nervous. Thought I'd check out this forum to see if anyone else experiencing the same. Who knows... with what happened to the Developer Center recently.

I just requested my own genuine password reset, and the email looked slightly different.

Here's the genuine one.

I'd remove your email address benjy. ;)

I don't consider Emails to exactly be a private thing. I mean it's publically on display on my Facebook and most of the forums I'm on. I don't really care if people see it.

I mean look, my Skype name and MSN are directly there on my profile, which is also my main email. ;)

No, that's for security question and answer.

I made a request to reset password last year and I still keep the e-mail. It looks exactly the same.

Also I just received another one. Quite exactly 2 hours apart as well. This is scary. :(

I just received a 2nd Password reset email too.

Got three of these emails this morning. The email seems legit (the link addresses really do lead to Apple), so I don't really know what to think.

Do you happen to have a Yahoo address tied to your Apple ID? When signing into my Yahoo email last night, I was forced to reset my password "for security reasons" and when I got to my inbox I had a blank email supposedly from Yahoo with the subject line "Yahoo Administrative Notice" (a Google search shows this happened to a lot of people yesterday). Today, the Apple emails are there. The account is my rescue email for my Apple ID, so maybe the two incidents are related.

Apple is slowly fixing the Dev Center at the moment (one feature at a time, over the course of a couple of weeks), so some of those may be triggered by that process, I'd suggest.

Could be wrong though, so reset if you feel that's better for you.
