For context, I recently bought a new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro chip and noticed some quality issues right out of the box.
The first unit I received had very noticeable hinge noise. Although I've replaced it with a new one, this second unit in front of me has an annoying screen defect. Specifically, when viewing the screen from a side angle, there's some backlight inconsistency, or what's commonly referred to as the "dirty screen effect." Fortunately, this issue is not present when viewing the screen from a front angle.
The whole process of visiting an Apple Store and getting a replacement has been tiresome. And I've been using this second unit for more than three weeks now.
What do you folks make of this issue? Do you think it's normal (which I certainly don't)? Would it be wiser to simply live with it?
