Just switched from Android, Google voicemail still picks up

I got my iphone 6 yesterday, previously I had a Nexus 5 and Google voice Voicemail setup.

usually I find a setting for voicemail in the phone settings but I'm not finding it with this phone, I'd like to deactivate it.

It's not a phone feature. You have conditional call forwarding setup on your line for GV. You need to turn it off to use the carrier VM.

Thanks, I was confused because when I followed the directions to deactivate, my line was listed as "Activate".. I must have activated a long time ago and google just forgot.
