iPod Just syncing songs and nothing else ?

Every time i sync my ipod it syncs everything over when only one song needs to be sync . And its annoying bc i just want that one song sync and nothing else . Is there anyway i can only get certain songs sync and not everything when it doesn't need to be sync again? thanks

Strange; when I add music to iTunes then sync to the iPod, it only syncs the new music and it's very quick. If I add lyrics to a song in iTunes, it only syncs that when I plug in the iPod.
