Hi, I am planning to by an iPhone but unfortunately it is not sold in my country. I will import and unlock it to use on a local operator. I have read a lot on forums and concluded pwnage is the safest/easiest way to do it. But i want to do it the safest way possible. I am not looking to install custom applications on the iPhone, I just want to unlock it. So if i unselect Neuter option and let only Unlock and Activate options checked, will it work as intended? Will it be safer?

Thanks in advance.

You can't unlock it unless you tick enable baseband update, unlock and neuter bootloader and activate.

You get installer - which is the third party application installer whether you like it or not!

But you don't have to use it and you can even remove it if you want, although I would add unless you have a Mac removing it would be difficult for someone with no experience of hacking phones.

However if you use a Mac all you have to do it use Independence and install Open SSH and click through to the application menu in Independence and delete installer and bootneuter applications and then remove SSH using Independence and it will look like a normal unhacked phone.

I think however its best you get the phone unlock it using pwnage AND THEN ask for instructions on how to do it!

However in order to unlock you MUST use BootNeuter initially and click on "neuter bootloader" or you can't unlock at all!
