So I finally just got around to installing the Yosemite Beta on my MacBook Air, and everything is going fine so far, except for two problems. First, FaceTime quits upon launch, giving me an error message that reads "There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again." And that keeps happening whenever I've quit and reopened the app.

Second, Messages has had a window open that says "the iMessage database is being upgraded, please wait while it finishes or Quit Messages and relaunch it later." It has a status bar that is very close to being filled in, but hasn't moved in a few hours.

Anyone else experienced this and have any ideas? I reported the bugs but am wondering if there's something I can do on my end.

Thanks!! :)

Update - after lots of trial and error I figured it out. For some reason logging into iMessages and FaceTime on my guest account fixed it on my main account. Weird. Oh well, hope this helps anyone else who encounters this problem.

It probably cleared some errors.

My suggestion before applying ANY upgrade/update is to first follow the following three steps:
- Repair Disk
- Repair Disk Permissions
- Clear PRAM

then install whatever you like. Otherwise, weird errors may appear.
