Okay, so today I upgraded my MacBook Pro to 10.8.4 from 10.6.8 to combat the "Connection Timeout" issue when trying to connect to my wireless network, which occurred out of the blue and couldn't be fixed by any of my go-to rememdies (deleting preferences, changing locations, removing from pref'd networks, etc.). Now that I've done that it will sometimes connect to my network but the connection is horrendously slow. I don't have another laptop to test the connection with but ethernet into the router gives no problems and my iPhone connects fine.

Even bigger problem, the main partition of my external hard drive with all my music, videos, etc. is now not showing up when I plug it in. The drive is exFAT formatted and I can get at everything when plugged into my PC but when plugged into the Mac it is only showing the Time Machine backup partition of my HDD. I don't even know where to begin with this one...

Uhg someone please help D:

My last TM backup is probably not as recently as it should be (probably a couple weeks ago). Do you think it would be okay to TM my current 10.8.4 version and then do the fresh install or would that be likely to copy whatever is causing the issue?

Bump. Can anyone answer my latter post? Will that TM backup work? I'm hesitant to do it...
