I had a similar question up on the board and some total idiot left a stupid reply. Bottom line is unlock is not yet available so its a case of wait and see what happens in the community. The "how to" guide on pwnage seems to hint that it can be done but its not very clear, I'm still waiting for someone with a brain to answer my own question so if i get one I'll post the link back here for you.

Wow we could probably go tic for tac... with this. I had no problems with ZiPhones program. None, not a one.
If you read the boards lots of people have had similier success. And if you also read the boards similier things can be found about Pwnage both neg and pos
And with the success he/she has had over a couple different forums....
Not saying this or that is better... mind you. Just pointing out what I have read and what I have done.
I've used both and I have to say I've had no issues with Pwnage, but did have issues where I had to restore my iphone after using Ziphone. YMMV though.
Once you've Pwned the phone and created the custom firmware, it's very easy to restore if you have issues.
I just got done with the extremely painful process of downgrading from 2.0 to 1.1.4 because I broke down and bought the 3G phone I wasn't planning on buying.
