I'v got th problm of th li not closing proprly, but am cool with that.

Now I got a biggr problm an I am incline to rport to appl about it. Hr is my problm or I guess you figur it out alreay. :

Th 'E' an 'D' kynotes on't work most of th tim (>90%), xcpt if I really press (past vrb not prsnt) vry har on it an har it click. If thy idn't work at all then its a efinit return, but the work 10% of the time an sometimes they work seamlesly as if ther is no problem at all.

What should I o?

It coul be a hiccup for a few ays so reporting it to Apple will only mak a fool out of me.

If I sent it to them an it worke then they'll return it back without any changes one.

Shoul I wait for a few more ay an test it or shall I call Apple on Friay?

P.S. Not typing the D and the E is not intentional, they just in't work.

If it's under warranty I would call it in. Try rebooting first and if that doesn't solve it give them a call. My guess is you have two bad keys on the keyboard. Apple's really good with their support (at least in my experience). It'll probably only take two to three days for the whole repair (so long as they have the parts in stock, i.e. newer laptop).

okay, i'm sorry, but this post seriously made me laugh out loud.

but, chuckles aside.. i assume you haven't spilled anything on it? as for dust and the like.. nothing much?

do you have an apple store near you? they could probably swap out the two keys on the spot, or swap out the entire keyboard..

aside from a nearby apple store, I'd just call and request a box. it would be a quick fix, so you shouldn't be without your lappy for very long. i don't see the problem just going away, unless it WAS a spill/dirt problem.

Restart.. No use.

Now the e is working fine. The D is not working though.

My god these two keys are a mess. Now they are working will. This has been going for 3 ays now. After smashing the d har.

I couldn't understand what I wrote in the 1st post.

No dirt or spills.

I'll keep it for a few days then go to Nottingham store if I kp getting the same problem. I hope there is no problem.

I had a very similar problem, if I remember correctly, clearing the PRAM and resetting the PMU fixed it.

Take your battery out, disconnect it from the mains, and hold down the power button for 10+ seconds.

Put it back in, reconnect the power and hold Command, Option, P and R until you hear the Apple chime three times. Hopefully that'll be it sorted.

I know your problem has been resolved but I've had a similar problem and the symptom disappeared after resetting everything however it kept coming back after a month or so... so I called apple care and told them my issue. So according to them, any keys failing in one column is a hardware failure (say 3, E, D, C or 9, o, l, .).
I think it's safer to return the computer and get the keyboard exchanged. Just speaking from experience.
