Keep getting the blue screen using bootcamp

I have windows vista home premium installed and I'd say anywhere from 25% to 40% of the time, my use in vista ends witht eh "blue screen", which usually happens withing 10-20 minutes of a new restart, but sometimes later. Its really annoying obviously.

Any work-around this, or any suggestions?

Hi, well i got the same problem here but i got the BSOD under windows XP, i tried to look in youtube about solving/ avoiding this problem but even after uninstalling programs or updating some drivers i still got this problem.

My question here is, does someone knows a program to check which driver or software is making the whole system buggy?
( i heard about Lunix but unfortunately i dont know how to use it properly )

Frankly, the Windows errors are rarely very descriptive. If you want to know what the problem is, write down the string of error codes when your computer crashes and then google it. Sometimes you can find similar errors.

But frankly, there's no way anyone could diagnose the problem from someone elses crash with no description. It's like telling a doctor "I feel bad. What could be causing it?."


General advice:
1) Upgrade the OS and other relevant programs.
2) Make sure your drivers are up-to-date from the OS X discs or otherwise.
3) Maybe try a utility like CCleaner to clean up your system.
4) Remove any unnecessary programs.

I had a similar problem (with Windows XP).

I suspected it was a drivers issue, so I tried to disable the iSight on the 'Device Manager' utility.
It never crashed again (at least not that often ).

You can check the event viewer for BSOD logs

Start > Control Panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer

then click on System and should show all the logs



ive had a total of i think 5 BSODs, one actually the other day, and i think one back in July and April and 2 last summer on my MacPro.

i guess its a yearly thing...hmmmmm.


it usually is very broad in terms, it could be the smallest driver issue, i had it once panic because of something associated with MacDrive (which i rarely use and disable when running my machine.)

but otherwise pretty stable

Don't see how to broadcom driver affects anything, I have it with Vista and I'm fine. I always had XP in the past, before upgrading to Vista and I never got the BSOD either. So no, it can not be the Broadcom driver, Apple does better than that.
