My "sleep" screen says Keep it clean under the time. see attached pic.

This is my third phone, and I don't remember the other ones saying it.

Does any other persons phone say this?

I also have the checkered screen. :(

sorry for the resolution of the pic, I had to use my old treo 650.

i suggest you keep it as clean as you can. if the iphone works fine, then i'd just call apple care and ask about it. i've not seen this "problem" before. in the meantime, don't get it dirty!

That is the name of the song playing in the background.

Yeah, that was a weird coincidence, but even if I quit out of the ipod feature by holding the home button it still stays with the last song i played. Isn't it supposed to display the date?

if you pause in the middle of a playlist, it'll keep that song in the main screen unless the playlist is complete.

It only displays the date before you start playing songs, or after all the songs are done playing.

If you want it to go away go to the iPod app and hold down the home button for 8 seconds. Might work.

EDIT: Sorry just read your other post and you tryed that.

if you really want the track title to disappear, find an album on your iphone with only one song listing, or go to a playlist and play the last song. make sure repeat or shuffle isn't turned on, and tap the skip forward button. it'll end the playlist or selection, and the home screen won't have a track title anymore.

ah. my brain isn't working right now.:eek:

I asked the same thing on another thread - I was confused why mine said "99 Flavors" until someone told me it was a song that I was playing last. It's funny cause it kind of made sense that the iPhone would said something like "99 Flavors" or "Keep it Clean"
