Can keeping my MacBook Pro on my lap scratch the bottom case? I just got it yesterday and I really don't want to scratch it!

If you have a belt or something sharp on your lap, yes. I've scratched mine pretty badly with my belt.

If all you have is your legs or your pants, nothing is gonna happen.

Unless your pants are made of steel wool or are studded in metal I don't see how your MacBook could be scratched up. Cotton Jeans or slacks shouldn't do it.

Of course, if you have unusual body peircings in your thighs you may want to consider that as a possible cause for scratches.

putting your MBP on your lap with no short or pant on….You will never know it is going to happen to your skin. ObamaCare is not going to pay for you.

I think it can if you are wearing Jeans or something scratchy. How do you post a question??
