Keep white macbook or swap for black?

Hi i have a white macbook 2.0Ghz 2Gigs of Ram and 80 GB HD....

i have the opportunity to swap it for a Blackbook 2.16Ghz 2Gigs of ram and 160GB HD..

I REALLY like the black and it will look better with the rest of my setup but im worried about finger prints and a really oily trackpad..

what are people opinions? keep the white or get the better black?

If they're asking for quite a bit, keep the White one.

The black smudged REALLY easily.

If you have the chance to get the blackbook, get it! Just get an invisible skin from bestskinsever.com That way you can avoid all the fingerprint/smudge/scratches madness and keep the blackbook pristine condition

Um, not really. My white MB is in to get a new case because of the staining. FTR, I have and use iKlear as well as Magic Eraser-- nothing will budge those stains. And if it wasn't an actual issue, I highly doubt the Genius would have just nodded and started the labor invoice without even looking at my case.


OP, I actually dislike the aesthetics of the black MB but given the propensity for the white to stain, given the choice today that you are? I wouldn't hesitate to swap for a black one. Even though I love the way the white one looks. "Grease" can be wiped off. Both colors will eventually show wear and tear in terms of shiny spots (like the trackpad) but the black presumably wouldn't get stained.

Simply put - and this is subjective - but the black one is sexy. Plus if its a free swap, you get a better performing computer. Once you go black, style and substance you won't lack.

As stated earlier...if it's an even swap - DEFINITELY do it.

If they want a small amount of money (around $100) I would probably do it...

But anymore than $150...I wouldn't bother.

Your white macbook is plenty capable, IMO.
