Anyone got any tips, how-to's, etc. On how to keep your iMac keyboard, mouse and monitor clean? I've had my Mac 3 days and I can just start to see a little bit of dirt and dust appearing here and there. I clean ANYTHING off when I see it. And I clean the monitor with the black screen cleaner that comes with your iMac when I see dust on the screen.

Check out this iKlear polishing kit:

http://www.klearscreen.com/detail.aspx?ID=12

It comes a couple of different cleaning/polishing clothes to dust of the case, clean the screen, and wipe down the keyboard/mouse.

It makes the keyboard/mouse feel brand new after cleaning, I highly recommend this stuff.

I use iClean or iKlear for my Macs. For the grime on the palmrest of my MacBook I normally just use rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works well on grimy palmrests from what mentioned around here.

or i just use the eyeglass cleaning solution from walmart. it is only $2-3 with free refills for life and it includes a microfiber cloth

it is aluminum and plastic. it won't get damaged. and it won't get discolored. when was the last time you had black that was discolored?

I used a little windex on a soft cloth and that worked pretty well for me.

I also just take a damp cloth and wipe it off and again no problems.

Let's see....

beer spilt - check
sneeze - check
cracker crumbs - check
pizza bits - check

Nope, my iMac ain't gonna stay clean.

As a matter of fact, after having purchased my iMac, wireless keyboard and mouse, I can just about fit an entire pizza box and a six of beer on the desk,

Tom

(the wireless keyboard was actually on top of the pizza box when I was playing Civ inside of VMWare Fusion, and I'm pretty sure the mouse would fit there too).

You should keep a bottle of hand sanitizer on your desk, then your keyboard wont get dirty.

also one of the big things is to not to eat or drink around the computer, keyboard, and mouse.

when you think nothing will happen, there is a chance it will.

Can you/do you use iClean on keyboards?

I have the wireless alu one but the white keys are starting to look a little dirty.
