I was wondering if anyone has found a way to keep birthdays from appearing in notification center? I think it'd be really great to set my calendar to show up in notification center with just 1 entry, so I can always see what my next upcoming event is. However, there is a birthday calendar in iOS containing the birthdays of all your contacts. You can keep these from appearing inside the actual app by turning the calendar off (much like youd expect). But this doesnt seem to stop them from appearing in the notification center. I checked settings too, and theres nothing in there about the birthday calendar. You also can't delete it

the only solution I can think of right now is basically removing the birthday entries from my contacts...not ideal, and I like having them there, just not to look at every time I open the notifications panel. Anyone found a different way to remedy this?

Thanks

I would like a way to keep long running events from appearing everyday. I am a freelance artist and I am currently on a 6 month job, so everyday it is on my notification.

Seems to be an oversight on Apple's part. I have 8 calendars on my iPhone, and 3 of them I keep hidden, one of which is birthdays. I do this so that the information on those calendars is there if I need it, but it otherwise doesn't clog up my calendar app. Unfortunately, notification center shows every calendar event regardless of whether its hidden or not. This is extremely annoying especially in the case of birthdays. I fully expect Apple to fix this in the future, either by hiding the same calendars that the calendar app hides, or by letting you choose which calendars to show in notification center in the settings app. Here's to hoping because as of right now it's annoying.
