Keeping my current Mac Pro for a file server

Guess the new Mac Pro looks pretty good - could have given us one freeking pci slot - but oh well. Think the old mp will be good for backup, fill it up with hard drives and still have the optical drives too. Think it will play nice in target mode with a tb firewire adaptor?

Disk target mode is not as quick as I would like it to be. I would make use of the dual Ethernet ports and buy a managed switch with link aggregation. Now you have a fast storage server on the network, if you connect the switch to your existing router.
