Not sure if I formed the title correctly so let me explain.

I need to travel to another country and take my Mac with me but I need the Mac to keep the same MAC and IP address as if i am still back home.

Is there anything I can set up in my house, like a server or anything that I could use so that when I travel, my Mac first connects to my router in my home here and then connects to the internet?

Basically I need it to look like I never left, that my Mac is still in the same spot back home.
Is this doable and if yes, how would one go on about doing that?

It sounds like you want to use a VPN. If you read up on it you can get an idea of what is out there. And I’m sure somebody else will post more specific info on products.

The MAC address won't change. The IP address will. I agree with mcpryon2, the only way I can think of to retain a static IP is to use a VPN service that offers a static IP option. Of course that means that you'll have to set up whatever is insisting on this MAC/IP combo with the VPN's static IP before you start traveling. And, you'll have to run the VPN at home as well; or, switch everything back when you return home.
