What software do i need to use and how often to keep my Mac runnign like new? I know that macs run like new for much, much longer the PC's but after a while (+8 months) i heard that they tend to slow down.

Onyx is fine, but if you don't shut the computer down after each use (just put it to sleep) it is unnessesary. Then there is the somewhat magical Repair Disk Permissions before and after installing any software or system updates. You will get a lot of "We are using special permissions for..." messages but this is normal.

Restarting, or erasing a programs preferences will often fix wackiness, but I haven't seen much of that with my machine. Enjoy your machine and come back if you have a problem. Best wishes.

MainMenu is even easier than OnyX... ;)
Wow. I don't know how I managed to miss that app after reading so many threads on MR. Thanks for that! It is simpler than Onyx and believe me, it gets old restarting so many times.
