I have all the Harry Potter and Shrek Movies in iTunes. Whenever I scroll through the Apple TV or iTunes menus, they are arranged alphabetically, meaning the first movie Sorcer's Stone, is not listed first. Are there any things I can change in the Info section of the videos to have them display in chronological order for those movies, while leaving everything else in alphabetical?

It's pretty easy. Select the movie in itunes and "Get Info". One of the tabs is "sorting" under that tab on the right side there is sorting name. Enter the name there, such as "Harry Potter 1" and so on. The apple TV will use this to sort the names.

You can try to retag the movie's "Sort Name" to Harry Potter 1, Harry Potter 2, etc, while leaving the actual name the same. Sort Name is located in the "Sorting" tab when you do a "get info".

I've never tried this, but I can't see it not working.

DAMN, I got beat to the punch.

Confirmed that changing the Sort Name field works. I have several series showing up in the correct order, including Harry Potter, Alien, Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean.

The sort fields are very useful. I use them a lot for keeping my sons programs at the top of the menu and grouping together related items (i.e. all Michael Palin series are grouped under P, regardless of name).

Before the firmware update the sort field didn't work. For me it is probably the most useful fix from 4.2

Another thing you can do is use the TV show name and season/episode number. Then it will put all of the movies under one entry in the list and sort them in order just like it does with TV shows.

eg. TV Show Name = Harry Potter and episode #1, 2, 3, etc. In your main movie list you will have an entry "Harry Potter" with the little arrow and when you select it you will get the ordered list of movies.

edit: I have an aTV 1 and this works. I assume it works on the aTV 2 as well.
